Radiation Therapy Math for the Student

(excerpted from the workbook)

PREFACE

The purpose of this workbook is to provide the Radiation Therapy student a resource for understanding and improving their skills in basic Radiation Therapy math and dosimetry. Each subject covered begins with a brief explanation followed by examples of how one might solve the problems.
Additional problems are included for practice and review.

There is deliberately a lot of room on these pages for you to scratch on; to make notes when something “clicks” or relates in some way for you, or for space to note items that you still don’t quite understand. I’ve tried to give you some very elementary math constructs and gently, where possible, lead you through some of the tougher problems and concepts.

It is my hope that this collection will help you in your understanding of this part of your journey in a career as a Radiation Therapy Technologist. I am very grateful to all the students I’ve had the opportunity to instruct, for you have taught me as well. This workbook is for you.
